No free man shall be seized or imprisoned, or stripped of his rights or possessions … except by the lawful judgement of his peers.Although not originally proposed as a bill of rights for the common man, two of its provisions became so with time and were reflected in the Fifth and Sixth Amendments to the Constitution– The document was the first instance where the king of England agreed to be subject to the laws of the land. The Magna Carta was signed at Runnymede on June 15, 1215. As part of the negotiations to avert civil war, John agreed to the provisions contained in the Magna Carta. John’s continuous demands for money and his failed invasion in Normandy in 1209 contributed to the English nobles uniting against him. Richard had spent less than six months on English soil as its king. John, the fourth son of King Henry II, became king upon the death of Richard the Lionheart in 1199. Due to the extravagant lifestyle of John and the court, the cost of Richard’s participation in the Third Crusade, the ransom paid for his release from Duke Leopold of Austria, and Richard’s continual struggle to regain lands lost in France, the royal coffers were bare. Richard and John feuded during Richard’s reign and the feud continued with Richard’s regent while he was on crusade. Upon the death of Henry II in 1189, his third son, Richard who would be known as the Lionheart, awarded lands to his brother John, including those of Sherwood Forest. The greed of enemy soldiers is also limited, with money purses not affecting sergeants, while ale does affect them. One is a woman, who wears a red apron the other, a man, who wears a red-and-blue shirt. On the other hand, there are two types of folk, who flee at the sight of a merry man, and alert nearby enemy soldiers. Common folk sometimes offer help as well (although this happens very rarely). In addition, in every town, the player can give money to beggars, who, when given coins and purses, help by providing hints and tips. While the merry men can kill or wound enemy soldiers, their resources are limited to a certain extent, with main characters having more than minor miscellaneous ones. In the final mission, Robin must fight the Sheriff, thereby defeating the Prince. In the game, the player controls up to five characters in a setting based on the stories of the protagonist, Robin Hood. It is similar to games such as Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive and the Commandos series. Missions generally include ambushing convoys and infiltrating towns, usually to gather information or even liberate a notable outlaw from the sheriff's clutches. Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood is a 2002 stealth-based real-time strategy video game developed by Spellbound Studios. The responsibility of getting the ransom of £100,000 to save the king falls into the player's hands. After the player finishes the first and second missions, meets Maid Marian in the Nottingham cathedral, and subsequently tries to meet the Prince, it is understood that King Richard has been kidnapped by Leopold of Austria for a ransom, and that the Regent Prince John is unlawfully usurping the rightful king. The game starts with Robin Hood, arriving in Lincoln from the Crusades, and finding out that his inheritance has been stolen by the notorious Sheriff of Nottingham.
